K Gallery Luxe: New Luxury Resale Close to Home
Friends Svetlana Khodorkovsky and Darya Babahanyan recently turned a hobby and love for high-end designer fashion into a venture filling a void on the East Side: a preowned luxury goods shop.
K Gallery Luxe opened in late December. Located at 2776 E. Main Street, the shop sits on the second floor in a space adjacent to Svetlana’s husband’s art gallery, which catches attention from the street by its murals of Kandinsky.
Inside, nestled among the artwork, you’ll find works of art of a different kind: Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Hermes, Louboutin...
Svetlana is a renowned figure skating coach for OSU and Darya had spent the last 15 years as a stay-at-home mom, and both were looking for a new adventure.
They love scouting for and reselling items for their friends and family and recognized there’s no luxury resale in Svetlana’s neighborhood of 30 years.
“All those stores are farther away. It’s Grandview, it’s Powell, it’s Dublin, nothing to serve the community here – Bexley, Berwick, New Albany, Gahanna,” Svetlana says. “People who come by are very impressed. They like the price.”
K Gallery Luxe is committed to offering previously owned handbags, shoes, clothes and accessories at a price that beats local competitors. They’re also willing to track down requests and offer resale for commission.
K Gallery Luxe is open one weekend a month -- Friday 3:00-6:00 pm; Saturday 12:00-6:00 pm; and Sunday 3:00-6:00 pm -- or by appointment, and they do business through Instagram and Facebook @KGalleryLuxe, where they share curated images of what’s in stock.
