Paint it Forward
On a warm Saturday morning in May of this year, a group of volunteers got together in Mt. Vernon, OH to help prep and paint the side of a barn. But this wasn’t an ordinary barn out in the farmlands of Knox County. It belongs to Mike Littig, who takes pride in the Pelotonia arrow that adorns one side of the barn.
The large side of the barn, along with Pelotonia’s lime-green arrow needed a little sprucing up. Led by Pelotonia’s CEO, Doug Ullman and staff, they set out to form a team of those willing to pay (or in this case, paint) it forward! Members from Team Bexley, Wonderwall Painting and Bexley residents were committed to rolling up their sleeves in helping out. Ladders were lifted, grounds were protected, and a fresh coat of white paint was rolled on in just a few hours. The weather could not have been more perfect, and the volunteers were able to enjoy stories and laughs over a cookout as a thank you from Mike.
Indeed, this was truly was a community-based project. Special thanks go to all of those involved, as well as the following: Fox In The Snow for donating coffee and treats, Creative Paints Bexley for donating all of the paints, and Sherwin-Williams for donating some tools. The time that each volunteer gave and all donations were greatly appreciated.
