Music Education Spotlight: Octave... Opus... Olivia and Owen

Olivia Patron is a 2nd grader at CSG who has played piano with Chambers Music Studio for about a year, when "I started making up my own music and songs. I just love to sing and write music. It helps give me confidence!" she says.

"I hear the words and sometimes make them up when I'm playing the piano," Olivia adds. "Music makes words come alive!"

Her favorite music moment so far was playing her first song on the piano. Her goal is to conquer each book as they get harder. "It's fun because it pushes you to improve and be better." When this future potential composer/songwriter isn't practicing, she enjoys math, Minecraft and Uno.

Owen McCool is a 3rd grader at Maryland Elementary who started playing guitar with Chambers during COVID over Zoom lessons. Though he was inspired by his dad to start playing, he seems to really love his teacher, Patrick. His favorite experience playing guitar was playing with Patrick and he aspires to be "like Patrick." (Well done, Patrick!)

Some of Owen's other favorite things include pizza, Jersey Mike's, PE class and football. In fact, the celebrity Owen would most like to meet is Minnesota Viking wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
