Luis’ Hamilton Khaki Field Watch

There are few items today meant to last, where quality meets tradition and technology, and that inspire confidence. What do you have that may become a family heirloom? For many, watches are that item. As collectors ourselves, we're intrigued by the stories and significance behind the timepieces. These are stories from Bexley residents about their watches.

Luis treated himself to this Hamilton H704450 watch for his 30th birthday. He had been a longtime collector but as this milestone approached, he started researching the countless choices available in the market to avoid the dreaded curse of buyer’s remorse.

After settling on Hamilton, a brand with over a century of American history that is now based in Switzerland, he focused on their mechanical options (automatics are wound once for as long as they stay on your wrist, no battery needed!) and was drawn to their rugged aesthetic and value proposition.

“I was immediately attracted to the red second hand and having both 12/24 hour markers made it a very unique watch. I would recommend this watch to a collector or a one-watch person.” He also appreciates the versatile design which allows him to switch bands freely.

As for his future plans, Luis says, “I plan to pass this watch along to one of my children but haven’t decided which one yet.” Luis lives in Central Bexley. He enjoys playing in the city’s adult soccer league, training for his next

marathon, and raising his three children. His grail watch is a Rolex Explorer.
