Great expectations: preparing yourself to buy or sell.

I often think: wouldn’t it be great if I had a magic wand? I suppose that can be true for a lot of businesses. When it comes to real estate I’m often asked, what will the market do this year?

Do you think my offer is good enough to win? Do you think rates will...? If only there was a crystal ball!

As we approach the halfway point of the third year of the most insane market that I can think of, the rest of 2023 is anyone’s guess. But one thing is for certain: Bexley and Columbus remain a superior market.

If you’re wondering how can you prepare yourself and your home when buying or selling in this wild wild midwest market, here are a few pro tips:

1. Separate personal feelings. That can be hard, I know. It’s your HOME, near and dear! You may think, how could they?! Or, they want what?! Try not to assume the other party is out to get you. In reality, truly, it’s just business.

2. Don’t assume you have to make high dollar renovations before listing. Talk to your Realtor first. You may, or may not, need to do much. It all depends on what your return may be. Knowing what can bring you top dollar is key and that may be with minimal changes.

3. Expect there to be bumps in the road, but know that our goal is to avoid them and make it as smooth and stress free as possible.
