Chametz Burning
To make Passover even more special this year, on Sunday, April 14 Chabad is holding a unique pre-Passover ceremony called Biur Chametz, or the Burning of Chametz. This is a ritual in which Jews burn all leavened products such as bread, cookies, cakes, pastas, tortillas, crackers and other items prior to the Passover holiday. As a way to make this ancient practice fun and exciting, fire jugglers, flamethrowers and a bonfire will be there to help burn the leavened products.
